Executive Director, Organization & Talent Partner R&D Division
Merck
Merck seeks an Executive Director to serve as senior strategic organization and talent advisor to R&D leadership. This role designs long-term organizational capability and workforce solutions, leads a team of Organization & Talent Partners, and translates business strategy into talent and structure planning across a complex global division.
Responsibilities
- Translate R&D business strategy into long-term organization and talent planning agendas
- Lead organization capability planning ensuring structures and roles align with business direction
- Drive strategic workforce planning linked to business transformation and pipeline needs
- Enable talent development and succession planning for critical leadership populations
- Coach senior leaders on organizational effectiveness, leadership impact, and talent decisions
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
- Minimum 12 years progressive HR experience in complex, global environments
- Demonstrated coaching and advisory experience with senior executives and leadership teams
- Broad experience in strategic workforce planning, organization design, talent, and succession
- Background supporting pharmaceutical, life sciences, manufacturing, or science-based organizations
- Proven ability to influence senior leaders and manage sensitive matters across boundaries
- Systems thinking with understanding of organizational interdependencies and global perspective
