About the Role

The Company is seeking an Associate Vice President of Operations Accounting to take on a pivotal role in a dynamic, multi-entity environment. The successful candidate will be a true player-coach, with a hands-on approach to leading a growing accounting function. This position offers direct exposure to executive leadership, the opportunity to enhance and develop scalable accounting processes, and involvement in system implementations and automation initiatives. The AVP Operations Accountant will also be responsible for overseeing multi-state regulatory and compliance processes, leading the general ledger close, and managing various financial aspects of the business. Applicants for the AVP Operations Accountant role at the company should have a minimum of 6-8 years' of accounting experience, with a preference for those with a background in insurance, MGA, brokerage, or carrier environments. Strong expertise in general ledger, reconciliations, and financial analysis is essential, as is at least 3 years' of leadership experience in a working manager capacity. A Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is required, with a CPA, MBA, or MAcc being preferred. The role demands advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP or agency management systems. The ideal candidate will be adept at driving process improvements, and automation, and will have a proven track record in financial close, audits, and budgeting processes.
