HireIQ is partnering with a well-established engineering and environmental consulting firm to hire a Senior Project Accountant for its New York finance team.

\n

\n

This is a strong opportunity for an experienced Project Accountant who wants full ownership of projects from setup through closeout, while partnering closely with Project Managers across a large, established A/E business.

The Role

\n

\n

You will manage the financial lifecycle of a portfolio of projects, including:

\n

\n

\n
• Project setup and budgets
\n
• Revenue recognition and WIP management
\n
• Project billing and invoicing
\n
• Forecasting and project financial reporting
\n
• Monitoring profitability, overruns and unbilled balances
\n
• Accounts receivable and collections
\n
• Subconsultant costs and project closeout
\n
• Working directly with Project Managers to resolve financial issues
\n

What They Need

\n

\n

\n
• 5+ years of project accounting experience
\n
• Experience within engineering, architecture or another project-based environment
\n
• Strong understanding of WIP, revenue recognition and project billing
\n
• Strong Excel skills
\n
• Deltek, Vision, Vantagepoint or Unanet experience strongly preferred
\n
