Senior Manager, Retention and Lifecycle

About the role

We are hiring for a Senior Manager, Retention and Lifecycle . Grüns is a subscription business, which means the relationship we build with every customer is one of our biggest levers on lifetime value. This role owns that relationship end to end: the right message, at the right time, in the right channel, for every customer. You'll take our lifecycle program from manual campaign production to an always-on, AI-driven testing engine, and you'll do it hands on keyboard, not from a distance.

This role is part of our remote HQ! We have a fully remote, high-trust work environment - and also come together on a biannual basis for amazing off-sites where we can connect IRL.

In this role, you will:

• Own 1:1 personalization across every one-to-one channel we use today (email, SMS, direct mail) and the ones we're testing next
• Run end-to-end ownership of automated lifecycle flows across welcome, post-purchase, billing reminders, cancel/winback, one-time-purchase to subscription conversion, and cross-sell
• Shift the program from manual builds and one-off sends to an always-on system that tests and optimizes itself
• Build out our email and SMS list growth engine beyond standard on-site capture
• Evaluate and implement the tools that let us enrich and act on customer data, then turn that data into real decisions on message, channel, and timing
• Lead an offshore production team on design, build, and QA, with the goal of running an increasingly automated system rather than managing manual output

We're looking for someone who:

• Has 5-8+ years in-house owning lifecycle, retention, or CRM at a consumer subscription brand
• Has owned both automated flows and one-off campaigns across email and SMS, end to end
• Has run a structured testing roadmap with real holdouts and reported actual incremental impact, not just open rates
• Has hands-on experience implementing personalization or data enrichment tools, not just briefing someone else on them
• Uses AI as a core part of how they build, test, send, and report
• Bonus: has worked somewhere with both a subscription and retail presence

• Every idea becomes a real test with a real read
• Owns the program end to end. Comfortable in ambiguity, doesn't need to be told what's next
• High craft, high speed, and a strong partner to ecomm, paid, CX, and data

Compensation & Benefits:

At Grüns, we're committed to providing a competitive total compensation package — grounded in market data that considers our size, stage, industry, and location. For this role, the base salary range is $130,000-$160,000 plus bonus depending on experience, paired with a comprehensive benefits package designed to support the well-being and growth of our team.
