This position is fully remote, offering flexibility and convenience for both counselors and clients. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations to assess clients' emotional, behavioral, and psychological health, ensuring a thorough understanding of their needs.

• Create individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessments and the latest evidence-based practices in psychotherapy.
\n
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing a variety of therapeutic techniques to engage clients in their recovery process.

• Monitor each client’s progress meticulously throughout their treatment journey, adjusting strategies as necessary to enhance outcomes.

• Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to develop cohesive treatment plans.

• Manage referrals and effectively coordinate with outside resources for comprehensive patient care.
\n
• Provide follow-up care for clients transitioning from hospital-based services to ensure continuity of care.

• Support family members in understanding and managing the mental health challenges of their loved ones.

• Document all client interactions and treatment plans accurately using electronic health record systems, such as AVATAR, maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our clients come from a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences, including individuals and families facing various mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. As a mental health counselor at Avis Counseling Center, you will play a crucial role in helping these clients navigate their paths to recovery and improved well-being.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution; a Master’s or Doctoral degree is strongly preferred.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New Jersey.

• A successful completion of relevant examinations, such as the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR.
\n
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, allowing for effective interaction with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.

• An empathetic, patient-centered approach to mental health care.

Preferred Experience\n

• Solid prior experience as a mental health counselor, specifically in a telehealth or virtual setting.

• Knowledge of best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
\n
• Experience in treating clients with co-occurring disorders, including addiction and related behavioral health issues.

• Familiarity with pharmacological treatments and understanding how they impact client therapy.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary for this position ranges from USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
