Job Description Special Education Teacher Location: Willimantic, CT Job Type: Full-Time Minimum 1+ years special education experience required. Key Responsibilities: Design and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) that cater to each student's specific needs. Provide direct instruction and support in both academic and behavioral areas. Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and other professionals to create a cohesive learning plan. Regularly assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies to ensure success. Maintain detailed and accurate records of student achievements, challenges, and IEP goals. Develop and utilize a range of instructional materials and techniques to accommodate diverse learning styles. Engage in ongoing communication with families to support student development and address any concerns. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field; Master's degree preferred. Valid Connecticut Special Education certification. Demonstrated experience working with students with various disabilities and learning challenges. Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders.
