Coordinate and supervise staff to ensure efficiency and adherence to established standards. Assume responsibility for the smooth execution of catered events and serve as the coordinator and principal contact. Responsible for maintaining and building customer relations with residents, families, staff and guests. Perform administrative duties such as maintaining the menu program and data entry for payroll and accounting procedures.Specific Duties and Responsibilities- Supervise and monitor the dining process. Make any necessary changes to meet customer needs and improve efficiency.- Assist other team members in the development of menus. Evaluate and recommend menu formats and print presentations.- Visit all dining service areas to assess service and customer satisfaction levels. Evaluate customer suggestions and implement changes as needed.- Direct and train hosts and hostesses in the organization and service aspects of the dining rooms and catered events.- Institute programs for orientation and training of Waitstaff to ensure job competence and adherence to service standards.- Adhere to the human resource policies and procedures of the facility. Treat employees with fairness and respect. Participate in hiring, performance appraisal and discipline of staff.- Communicate with staff regularly, both formally and informally; hold pre shift meetings daily to ensure staff awareness of dining room and catering activities.- Serve as a role model for employees by maintaining standards for appearance and dress as well as attendance and meal breaks.- Enforce safety standards with employees. Ensure safety problems are corrected to prevent staff injuries.- Ensure sanitation standards are enforced. Develop and implement routine cleaning procedures for dining room and service pantry areas.- Serve as coordinator for catered events. Meet with individuals to plan and execute events.- Participate with activities departments to carefully plan and execute resident special functions and holiday events.- Develop and maintain good working relationships with all staff members.- Continuously measure resident satisfaction and quality outcomes and work to improve those outcomes.- Assist the restaurant manager in managing within budget which includes recording daily meal counts, preparing weekly sales and cost reports, controlling cost, and reviewing financial performance.- Purchase and ensure that all necessary office supplies are available on a timely basis.- Serve on quality improvement teams as requested by the Director.- Participate in education programs, as required.- Adhere to all facility policies and procedures.- Build and maintain excellent resident relations by greeting residents by name, listening and acting on resident requests, developing and offering special theme meals, helping to make holidays special, and getting to know residents' families.- Work rotating weekends and evenings to ensure the delivery of high quality meals and customer service to residents during meal periods.- Assist with maintaining production sheets, inventory, menu development, menu displays for all outlets, and other office duties as assigned.- Prepare staff schedule through on-shift program.- Track Relias Learning for Dining Services.Liquor License & Compliance- Oversee the day-to-day operation in accordance with all applicable Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) regulations and local requirements.- Ensure all alcohol service, sales, storage, purchasing, and inventory practices comply with applicable Pennsylvania laws and company policies.- Maintain required liquor-license documentation, postings, permits, and records and ensure they remain current and readily available for inspection.- Ensure all employees involved in the sale or service of alcohol receive appropriate training and follow responsible alcohol-service practices, including proper age verification and identification procedures.- Monitor compliance with hours of alcohol service, responsible service requirements, and other applicable PLCB regulations.- Maintain accurate alcohol inventory and records and promptly address discrepancies or compliance concerns.- Immediately escalate any potential liquor-license violation, citation, or regulatory issue to ownership/upper management and assist with corrective action as directed.RequirementsMinimum: High School degree or GED. 2-3 years experience as waitstaff and/or dining services.Preferred: AAS in Hotel/Restaurant or related field.
