Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Renal Telemetry Duration: 6 Weeks Shift: 12H Days, Every Other Weekend Hours per Shift: 48 hours per week Experience: 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Certification, NIHSS Must-Have: Cardiac drip experience required Description: The unit focuses on renal and neurology diseases. Registered Nurses must be open to floating to other departments. Candidates are required to have cardiac drip experience. This unit is busy and operates in a large Level 1 Trauma setting. Nursing staff must be flexible with scheduling. Self-scheduling is not available. Epic charting experience is required. Successful candidates typically have 3 or more years of experience, prior travel experience, and have worked in a busy hospital environment. The unit primarily cares for patients with end-stage renal disease, pre and post-surgical patients, GI complications, and cardiac conditions. There is a significant volume of blood transfusions, blood specimen collections, dressing changes, central line placements, and foley care. The patient population is mostly elderly, with patients over 65 years old being predominant. The nurse-to-patient ratio is usually 1:5 or 1:6, with a patient care assistant ratio of 1:15. The unit has a capacity of 30 beds. Cancellation policies allow for up to 4 shifts to be canceled per 13-week assignment and 3 shifts for shorter assignments.
