Senior Director, USMA Business Planning
AstraZeneca
Senior strategic leadership role owning the finance and planning cycle for US Medical Affairs at AstraZeneca. Drives integrated business planning capability, leads cross-functional teams, and serves as primary strategic partner to senior leadership on portfolio execution and enterprise alignment.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve integrated USMA business planning capability (iMAP), translating enterprise strategy into portfolio plans and measures
- Lead franchise-aligned SPM and Business Specialist teams, managing performance, capability development, and succession planning
- Drive USMA planning rhythm and governance forums, setting agendas, timelines, standards, and organizational scorecards
- Own finance and planning cycle end-to-end, leading Mid-Term Planning process and partnering on financial narratives
- Serve as primary voice of USMA portfolio to senior leadership, providing decision-ready strategic communications
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, science, healthcare, technology, or related field
- 8+ years pharmaceutical industry experience, preferably in Medical Affairs
- Progressive senior leadership experience in business planning, portfolio management, operations
- Demonstrated ability to lead through influence in complex, matrixed environments
- Strategic thinking with strong portfolio and program management background
- Experience building and developing high-performing teams at scale
