Administrative Services Manager & Business Operations

Administrative Services Manager & Business Operations Apply now Job no: 559149 Work type: Management (MPP) Location: Long Beach Categories: MPP, Administrative, At‑Will, Full Time Key Responsibilities Fiscal Responsibilities – Develop and implement all fiscal policies and procedures in the College of Business and university, serve as resource for department chairs and staff, manage financial affairs and resource allocation plans, including General Funds, Continuing Education Funds, Lottery, Instructional Related Activities, Course Fees, External Revenue, Research and LB Foundation Funds, and other revenue sources. Human Resource Management Responsibilities – Lead staff recruitment, hiring, training, and performance evaluation processes; allocate faculty, staff, and administrator positions; provide guidance on tenure‑track faculty recruitment and review hiring paperwork per campus protocol. Enrollment Planning and Management – Work with the Associate Dean to meet enrollment targets, manage faculty allocations, and coordinate with department chairs and the CBA Student Success Center on class section numbers and sizes. Instructional Technology and Facilities Management – Oversee the Director of IT on building and classroom upgrade projects and submit SEF‑Tech proposals, identifying instructional technology needs for the college. Education and Experience Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree and five years of experience; master’s degree preferred. Five years of budget, financial, and position analysis experience, including complex spreadsheet development, data research, and problem solving. Three years of HR experience in faculty workload, faculty assigned time, lecturer contracts, lecturer entitlement, additional employment, tenure‑track faculty and staff recruitment, staff training, and student worker hiring including graduate assistants, instructional student assistants, and federal work study students. Experience with campus procurement, travel, accounts payable, and accounts receivable policies and procedures. Experience in degree program budget development and revenue analysis. Enrollment management experience preferred. Compensation Hiring Range: $110,000 – $120,000 per year. MPP Compensation Summary Range: $100,068 – $150,108 per year. Benefits Paid Time Off: Up to 24 vacation days per year (based on employee group and/or length of service), 14 paid holidays, and 12 sick days annually with unlimited accrual. Physical Summary Sedentary work – primarily sitting; walking and standing are minimal. Lifting is limited to lightweight objects (10 pounds or less).
