Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make a meaningful difference supporting students with significant disabilities in a dynamic school environment near Wichita, KS. This full-time, in-person contract opportunity is available at both the elementary and secondary levels, with each educator serving a manageable caseload of approximately 10 students. We’re seeking compassionate, experienced Special Education Teachers who are driven to foster academic and life skills growth for learners with unique needs.

Your expertise will help nurture inclusive classrooms, collaborating with teams and families to ensure every student receives the support they deserve. This role is well-suited for educators who excel in adaptive teaching and individualized instruction, with a strong commitment to positive behavioral supports.

Requirements:

• Valid Kansas low-incidence special education teaching license (must be active and submitted before placement consideration)
• Experience working with students who have significant disabilities, ideally at the elementary or secondary level
• Thorough knowledge of low-incidence strategies, IEP development, and adaptive curriculum modification
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach
• Ability to remain organized while managing a caseload of around 10 students per teacher
• Must be able to teach in person—virtual options are not available

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized educational programs (IEPs) tailored to each student
• Apply specialized teaching methods for students with significant and mixed abilities disabilities
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, families, and other educators to deliver holistic support
• Utilize positive behavior interventions and differentiated instructional strategies
• Document progress and maintain compliance with state and federal requirements
