The Mechanical Assembler completes the full assembly of various machine models by following established procedures, using a range of hand, power, and pneumatic tools. This role involves moving and staging machines as needed, verifying that completed units meet quality standards, and documenting work accurately. The Mechanical Assembler works in a team-based assembly environment and supports overall production by performing additional duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Assemble a variety of machine models from start to finish by following established procedures and work instructions.
• Use hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, sockets, and ratchets to complete mechanical assembly tasks.
• Operate power tools, including drills and impact drivers, as well as pneumatic and air tools during assembly.
• Move and position machines and components as required using manual and electric pallet jacks.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions to ensure accurate assembly.
• Verify that completed machines meet quality standards and specifications and accurately complete and initial required paperwork.
• Measure and confirm dimensions using a tape measure to ensure parts and assemblies meet required tolerances.
• Operate small air, hand, and electric tools safely and efficiently throughout the shift.
• Communicate effectively with team members and leads to coordinate work and resolve issues.
• Memorize and follow standard work processes, sequences, and safety procedures.
• Cross-train and work in different assembly pods or cells as needed to support production demands.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including proper handling and storage of tools and materials.
• Follow all safety guidelines and procedures while performing physical tasks such as lifting, bending, twisting, and turning.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support overall production and team goals.

Essential Skills

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds consistently throughout the shift.
• Ability to bend, twist, and turn repeatedly during the workday.
• At least 6 months of previous working experience in any industry.
• Preferably 6 months of prior assembly or manufacturing experience.
• Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to operate small air, hand, and electric tools safely and effectively.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions and drawings.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure.
• Good memorization skills to retain processes, instructions, and sequences.
• Ability to effectively communicate with coworkers and supervisors.
• Consistent and reliable work history, even if not in manufacturing.

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing facility that is not air conditioned and can become hot during the summer months. The work area is located in the newest part of the building, which is well lit with skylights and organized to support efficient workflow. The assembly process is structured around pods or cells rather than a traditional assembly line, with each pod typically consisting of 34 people working together to assemble specific machines. Employees learn one pod or cell at a time and then cross-train into other areas, creating a highly versatile and collaborative environment. Teamwork is central to the culture, and employees are expected to be adaptable and willing to rotate through multiple assembly areas. The role involves regular use of hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and manual and electric pallet jacks. The physical nature of the work includes frequent lifting, bending, twisting, and turning throughout the shift. An onsite, state-of-the-art gym is available for employee use, supporting overall health and wellness.

This is a Permanent position based out of Anoka, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.50 - $21.50/hr.
