Job Type: Classified Job Classification: 5312 - Business Systems Analyst II Salary Grade: 14 Pay Range Hiring Range: $65,457 - $78,540 Annually Pay Range: $65,457 - $91,644 Annually Range Explanation: Hiring Range is an estimate of where you can receive an offer. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, training, and internal equity. Pay Range is the entire compensation range for the position. Analyzes business processes and functions to identify opportunities for improvement and promote greater efficiency and effectiveness. Identifies, analyzes and articulates required changes and translates the business unit’s needs to departmental leadership and technology stakeholders. This classification is distinguished from the Business Systems Analyst I by its emphasis on complex projects affecting multiple departments and from the Business Systems Analyst III which focuses on leading complex system architectural projects. This is an in-office position located in Tucson, AZ, and cannot be remote. The Information Technology Department is unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position. Essential Functions: Engages with multiple Pima County departments or elected officials Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gain understanding of how the entities operate to deliver on its mission; Researches and documents the technical tools (hardware and software) that enable business operations for multiple departments and/or elected officials; Identifies and documents areas of operational improvement that can be gained via changes in technology; Communicates proposed changes in technology to technical teams and/or third-party vendors for design, development and deployment via requirements definition documents, work items in a work management tool, visual representations, and oral presentations; Coordinates requirements definition and business case for change with multiple departments and/or elected officials SMEs; Provides status updates to leadership in oral and written form; Executes project management techniques (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) to ensure efficient and effective delivery of technical solutions for multiple departments and/or elected officials; Effectively negotiates for viable solutions to technical, process and priority conflict resolution; Serves as a team member to deliver technical solutions on larger projects and/or for multiple departments. Minimum Qualifications: Four (4) years of experience in business process analysis or computer hardware, software or database development, maintenance, or testing. (Relevant professional level experience and/or education from an accredited college or university may be substituted.) One (1) year of experience in a Pima County Business Systems Analyst I or related classification as determined by the department head at the time of recruitment. Preferred Qualifications: Minimum three (3) years experience in Information Technology supporting and administering various business system applications. Minimum three (3) years experience gathering and documenting requirements while capturing baseline measurements to support analysis and improvement. Minimum three (3) years experience in analysis of current business processes, development and documentation of new business processes, gaining acceptance of the new or modified business process, and implementing revised and new business processes. Minimum three (3) years experience working with multiple customers, both internal and external to the organization, who have a wide range of business requirements related to Information Technology. Minimum three (3) years experience leading organizational change initiatives and implementing performance improvement strategies to enhance operational efficiency, employee adoption, and business outcomes. Failure to obtain and maintain the required licenses and certifications shall be grounds for termination. Ability to communicate clearly (verbal, written). Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access filing cabinets, office machinery, etc. Action Activity - bending, climbing, crawling, kneeling, reaching, squatting and stooping; Motion Activity - simple and firm grasping and fine movement; Hearing Activity - in noisy areas, behind themselves and equipment alarms; Speaking Activity - in person and on a phone; Vision Activity - operate a motor vehicle, distinguish colors, have depth perception and peripheral vision. Working Conditions: Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
