What You'll Do

• Provide critical care to adult ICU patients, including surgical, medical, cardiac, and neuro cases
• Manage ventilators, assist with intubation and extubation
• Administer medications, including IV titrations and vasoactive drips
• Monitor and manage arterial lines, EVD drains, and central lines
• Support post-CABG (Open Heart) patients (experience preferred)
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including RT, charge RN, CNA, and hospitalists
• Document patient care efficiently in EMR (Meditech Expanse)

What You Need

• Valid RN license in Louisiana
• Minimum 2 years ICU experience, including stroke, ventilator, and critical care management
• Certification in BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Ability to pass an EKG competency exam
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills

About the Assignment

This assignment is at a prominent hospital in Shreveport, LA, caring for adult patients with complex surgical, medical, neuro, and cardiac diagnoses. The unit features 20 beds, with an average of 16 patients daily, and offers a dynamic environment for experienced ICU nurses. The facility emphasizes teamwork, safety, and quality patient care, with floating support available to PCU or MedSurg units as needed.
