Job Description Criminal Defense Paralegal Maronick Law LLC – Maryland (Baltimore-based; multi-county practice) Position Overview Maronick Law LLC, a fast-paced and growing Maryland litigation firm, is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Criminal Defense Paralegal to support attorneys handling misdemeanor and felony criminal matters across multiple Maryland jurisdictions. The ideal candidate thrives in a deadline-driven environment, demonstrates strong client-service skills, and has experience supporting litigation teams from case intake through disposition. Key Responsibilities Draft, format, and file criminal pleadings, motions, and correspondence in Maryland state courts Maintain case files, discovery materials, and document management systems Coordinate court filings, service, and scheduling across multiple counties Communicate professionally with clients, courts, prosecutors, and law enforcement agencies Assist attorneys with trial preparation, exhibits, subpoenas, and witness coordination Manage deadlines, hearing calendars, and case tracking systems Conduct basic legal research and assist with discovery review and organization Support intake processes and preparation of client case summaries Qualifications Minimum 2 years of litigation or criminal defense paralegal experience preferred Familiarity with Maryland court filing procedures strongly preferred Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple active cases Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems Paralegal certificate or associate/bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent experience) Compensation and Benefits Salary Range: $52,000 – $70,000 annually , depending on experience Performance bonus opportunities Health, dental, and vision benefits (eligibility based on firm policy) Paid time off and firm holidays Professional development opportunities Work Environment This is primarily an in-office position supporting active litigation matters, with occasional travel to local Maryland courthouses as needed.
