Business Excellence Engineer Co-Op

Johnson & Johnson seeks a Business Excellence Engineer Co-Op for an August-December 2026 internship in Gurabo, Puerto Rico. The role focuses on driving operational improvements using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, reducing costs, and optimizing processes across assigned areas.

Responsibilities

Execute continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, and kaizen methodologies
Develop and maintain value stream maps and process documentation for assigned operational areas
Support cost reduction and inventory optimization initiatives while improving workflow alignment
Create and manage visual management tools including dashboards, scorecards, and standard work documentation
Conduct time studies and collaborate with operations teams on process enhancement initiatives

Requirements

Currently pursuing bachelor's degree in industrial, mechanical, software engineering, technology, or related field
Completed freshman year; currently in 3rd or 4th year of college with minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English
Proficient in Excel pivot tables, data analysis, and statistical tools
Experience or knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, value stream mapping, and process mapping
Familiarity with Power BI or similar business intelligence tools
Permanent U.S. work authorization; no visa sponsorship required
