The Parent Involvement Educator will work closely with the Non‑Public Title I Teacher to create a learning environment that supports and increases parental involvement and engagement of eligible Title I families in the non‑public schools. This entails working in concert with the building principal and the Non‑Public Title I Teacher to create and maintain a positive school climate among parents, students and school staff. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Creates and maintains working relationships between Title I eligible parents and school staff to include workshops and home visits with parents. Assist in the plans to improve involvement of Title I eligible parents. Maintains records of parent meetings. Prepares reports concerning parent engagement activities at the school level for the Title I office. Assist in the collection and compilation of parent engagement activities. Travel throughout the neighborhood, and visit homes. Work with the Title I teachers and eligible non‑public teaching staff to ensure an understanding of communicating and working with parents to build ties with the school. Serve as a liaison to the community and attend external meetings as needed. Refer parents and family members to human service agencies and other resource providers. Develop relationships with agencies and organizations whose resources can help increase academic success and improve the conditions for learning. Coordinate parent workshops and meetings with a focus on Math and the five components of Reading (phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension). Creates and disseminates information to parents as it relates to Title I. EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in education, government, social service or a related field and/or equivalent work experience in education, government, social service or related field. Bi‑lingual individuals; preferred. WHAT YOU’ll BRING: SKILLS AND MINDSETS: Culturally competent and able to work with diverse community members, parents and family members. Ability to manage and coordinate multiple programs, services, and resources from multiple organizations and partners. Willing to actively engage with neighbors, community organizations, and other groups that are not currently working with the school. Desire to learn about effective teaching and learning and how community resources can help impact the learning and student success. Proficient in computer resources and standard office equipment. Must be trustworthy, dependable, and able to keep client and corporate matters confidential. Language Ability: Must demonstrate a high level of oral and written communication skills in order to communicate with directors, principals and peers. Able to communicate with diverse groups and various management styles. Math Ability: Average Reasoning Ability: Able to work independently under supervision of the Title I Non‑Public School Teacher and Federal and Special Programs. Must be able to recognize and utilize interdepartmental relationships and procedures. Able to problem solve and troubleshoot at a high level. Certificates and Licenses: No certification needed Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
