Join us at Andersen, and together, let's write the story of your success!The RoleWe are seeking a Senior Associate to join our team, where they will serve as a key technical resource supporting both internal leadership and client-facing teams. This role is responsible for researching complex accounting issues, developing and maintaining firmwide accounting policies, and ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and PCAOB standards.The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in public accounting and SEC reporting, along with the ability to translate technical guidance into clear, actionable insights. This position offers the opportunity to work across a global organization, collaborate with senior stakeholders, and play a critical role in shaping the firm’s accounting framework and technical capabilities.Core ResponsibilitiesServe as a technical accounting and policy subject-matter expert for internal leadership and client-facing service teamsDevelop, maintain, and oversee the firm’s accounting policy framework, ensuring policies reflect current U.S. GAAP, SEC guidance, and industry considerationsResearch complex accounting issues (e.g., revenue recognition for services, consolidation, leases, business combinations, equity structures) and prepare well-supported technical memosProvide technical consultations to engagement teams supporting clients on complex transactions and reporting mattersMonitor new FASB, SEC, and PCAOB pronouncements; assess firm impact and lead implementation and trainingSupport internal quality control and risk management processes, including policy compliance reviewsAssist with preparing financial reporting disclosures and SEC filings related to the firmPrepare and review detailed footnote disclosures for financial statements and SEC filingsEnsure accurate reconciliation of local statutory reporting to U.S. GAAP reporting for global entitiesDevelop and deliver training programs, technical updates, and educational sessions for partners, managers, and staffCollaborate with legal, HR, operations, and finance teams on firmwide initiatives with accounting implicationsThe RequirementsMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in AccountingCertified Public Accountant (CPA) required4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including:Public accounting experience (required)SEC reporting experience (required)—either preparing filings or auditing SEC registrantsStrong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC rules, PCAOB standards, and reporting/disclosure requirementsProven experience drafting high quality technical accounting memos and policy guidanceProficiency in consolidation accounting for a global organizationPreferred QualificationsExperience within professional services preferred, such as audit, technical accounting advisory, financial reporting advisory, or transaction advisoryFamiliarity with emerging issues impacting professional services firms (e.g., revenue recognition for arrangements with multiple performance obligations, contract based services, equity compensation for partners/staff, intangible assets, consolidations, acquisitions, and valuations)Understanding of internal controls, quality assurance frameworks, and documentation standards expected in client-service environmentsExperience working with multiple stakeholders, partners, and engagement teams across service linesExperience developing and maintaining global accounting policies and proceduresSkills & CompetenciesExceptional technical accounting research, problem-solving, and analytical skillsStrong written communication, particularly in drafting policies, memos, and training materialsAbility to distill complex technical issues into clear, actionable guidance for internal teams and client-service professionalsExcellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent initiativesHigh professional judgment and attention to detail, aligned with a client service quality mindsetAbility to influence senior stakeholders, including partners and practice leadersProficiency with accounting research tools, SEC research platforms, and Microsoft Office applicationsStrong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively across global teams and multiple stakeholdersCompensation and BenefitsOur firm offers a competitive base salary and comprehensive benefits package designed to support the well-being, growth, and long-term success of our people. Actual compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and skill set.Benefits: Employees (and their families) are eligible for medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance coverage. Employees may enroll in the firm’s 401(k) plan upon hire. We offer 160 hours of paid time off annually, along with twelve paid holidays each calendar year.
