Director of Financial Planning and Analysis

Location: Hybrid – Chicago, IL (local candidates only at this time) About the Opportunity IFG’s Chicago client is adding a Director of Financial Planning & Analysis to serve as a strategic finance leader supporting a growing business segment within a dynamic, technology-enabled services organization. This newly created role offers the opportunity to partner closely with senior business leaders, influence key strategic decisions, and help drive the next phase of growth. This role with support the supply chain and logistics leaders of the organization. Key Responsibilities Serve as a strategic finance partner to senior business leaders, providing financial guidance and insight to support growth initiatives and business performance. Lead annual budgeting, long-range planning, forecasting, and related financial planning activities for the business unit. Analyze financial and operational performance, identify trends and risks, and recommend actions to improve results. Develop executive-level financial presentations, dashboards, and reporting packages that support decision-making. Build and maintain financial models, scenario analyses, and business cases to evaluate strategic initiatives and investments. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial plans with operational and commercial objectives. Monitor key performance indicators and business metrics, providing visibility into performance against forecast, budget, and prior periods. Support business transformation, integration, and organizational growth initiatives through financial analysis and reporting. Drive continuous improvement of FP&A processes, reporting capabilities, systems, and data quality. Conduct ad hoc analyses related to profitability, cost management, resource allocation, strategic planning, and operational improvements. Contribute to the development of scalable financial processes and frameworks that support long-term business growth. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. 10+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, strategic finance, or related disciplines. Advanced financial modeling and Excel skills. Experience with financial planning systems, ERP platforms, and business intelligence tools. Experience supporting business integrations, transformations, or large-scale strategic initiatives is a plus. Industry experience in distribution, supply chain, logistics, or other complex operational environments is strongly preferred.
