Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry Discipline: RN Start Date: 10/05/2026 Duration: 16 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days, nights, flexible, rotating Employment Type: Travel Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical Oncology Telemetry – Ohio Start Date: October 5, 2026 Location: Columbus, Ohio Compensation: Competitive salary with auto offer; details provided to qualified applicants Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts (days/nights or combination based on department needs); shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period; weekend shifts variable based on unit needs Highlights: Mixed acuity unit with approximately 24 PCU beds and 24 Medical Surgical Telemetry beds serving medical oncology patients Travelers will primarily care for MS/Telemetry patients with staffing ratios aiming for 1:4-5 Oncology experience preferred but NOT required; 2 years inpatient nursing experience required Optional professional development opportunity: 2-day chemotherapy certification course available for interested candidates Epic EMR system with GE telemetry monitoring 72-hour orientation provided; one pre-approved time off period available Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, respiratory services, physical therapy, rapid response teams, and more Requirements: 2 years of current, acute care inpatient nursing experience (must be actively working in the specialty within the last 12 months) Valid RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission) Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required ACLS certification preferred Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program Epic charting system experience required Willingness to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity Previous travel experience preferred Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only) 2 professional references required: at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership role Patient Population & Clinical Focus: High acuity adult and geriatric patients with solid tumors and some hematologic malignancies Strong emphasis on infection prevention protocols and fall prevention Pediatric patients extremely rare and cared for by permanent staff (pediatric experience not required) Equipment includes Alaris pumps, GE telemetry system, bladder scanners, PCA pumps, and continuous bladder irrigation Why It's a Great Opportunity: This position offers an excellent opportunity to work with a specialized oncology population in a supportive, team-oriented environment with robust interdisciplinary resources.
