Project Manager

Project Managers must have direct experience in remedial construction, waste services, and industrial maintenance. The Project Manager reports directly to the Director of Project Management and works closely with Sales and Business Development to manage customer needs and develop existing accounts. The role involves planning, executing, and finalizing projects on time and within budget, coordinating team members and third‑party contractors, and overseeing quality control throughout the project life cycle. Responsibilities Manage and develop accounts; build customer relationships and scope projects/jobs for key accounts. Ensure proper costing and utilization of labor and equipment; develop best practices and tools for project execution. Coach, mentor, and motivate project team members and contractors, influencing them to take ownership and accountability. Direct personnel in operational procedures to complete assignments and understand manpower and equipment requirements for field service projects and emergency responses. Proactively manage changes in scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans. Collaborate with the Field Service Coordinator on resource communication for field service projects. Initiate joint client visits with Sales/Business Development personnel as needed. Maintain overall responsibility for project P&L. Oversee project health, safety, profitability, completeness, and professionalism. Communicate with foremen/supervisors to ensure contractual obligations are met and change orders are executed before additional work begins; confirm customer acknowledgment of change orders. Address health and safety issues surrounding assigned projects, reviewing procedures and communicating with the health & safety organization. Interface with customers professionally and effectively, updating them on status or resolving problems/issues. Document competitive issues and convey findings appropriately. Conduct post‑project reviews and prepare recommendation reports on project successes and failures. Perform other assignments as assigned by management. Requirements Ability to independently manage customer relationships. Demonstrated experience in personnel management. Technically competent with Microsoft Office and related software. Experience working both independently and in a collaborative team environment. Capability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines using analytical and problem‑solving skills. Flexibility and prompt reaction to project adjustments and alterations. Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating communication style. Skill in eliciting cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and internal departments. Strong prioritization and task execution ability in high‑pressure environments. Education / Experience 2‑4 year college degree. 5‑10 years of environmental project management experience or related industry experience. Competencies Knowledge of scoping/estimating field service work; preference for remedial construction. Leadership and supervisory skills. Knowledge of equipment, environmental regulations, safety, and compliance. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with Windows‑based applications. Physical Requirements Near visual acuity for speaking and listening required. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, grasping, and reaching. Occasional lifting up to 10 lbs, pulling/pushing, and carrying. Dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other devices. Extended periods of sitting possible.
