Firewall Administrator

Responsibilities

Kforce's client in Tampa, FL is seeking a Firewall Administrator to support and enhance a large-scale enterprise network security environment. This role will focus on firewall administration, VPN management, troubleshooting, and security infrastructure upgrades. The ideal candidate has experience working in regulated environments and is comfortable supporting complex network security initiatives.Responsibilities:

• Support the day-to-day administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of enterprise firewall environments
• Create, modify, and maintain firewall rules while investigating and resolving connectivity and security-related issues
• Configure, deploy, and support VPN solutions, including implementation, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance
• Participate in firewall upgrade and migration projects to enhance security and network performance
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams to ensure secure and reliable network operations
• Provide after-hours support for scheduled implementations and maintenance activities as needed

Skills

• 3+ years of experience implementing, upgrading, and supporting enterprise firewall technologies
• Hands-on experience with VPN configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting
• Understanding of industrial and operational technology networking protocols, including Modbus, CIP, and other ICS-related protocols
• Experience working in regulated environments with security and compliance requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Check Point firewalls
• Understanding of network routing and switching fundamentals

Additional Information:

• Hybrid work environment with onsite presence required multiple days per week
• Occasional after-hours work may be required to support planned implementations and maintenance action

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.


We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
