Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement individualized physical therapy treatment plans tailored to patients' orthopedic needs.
• Direct and oversee the activities of physical therapy assistants to ensure compliance with therapeutic plans and standards of care.
• Conduct thorough evaluations to assess clients' functional levels, utilizing advanced diagnostic tests to determine muscle, nerve, and joint capabilities.
• Assess the home environment of clients to identify necessary adaptations for rehabilitation success, recommending modifications to foster independence.
• Administer a variety of treatments and therapeutic exercises, including manual therapy techniques, traction, and electrical stimulation, to relieve pain and improve mobility.
• Collaborate in the ongoing development and review of patient care plans, adjusting therapeutic strategies based on patient progress and feedback.
• Document clinical evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries accurately, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, including OASIS documentation.
• Engage in interdisciplinary case conferences, contributing insights that enhance holistic treatment strategies for clients.
• Educate clients and their families on therapeutic protocols and the proper use and care of physical therapy equipment.
• Provide supervision and support to physical therapy assistants, ensuring quality care and adhering to state regulations.
• Remain accessible to team members and clients during treatment sessions, providing guidance and support as required.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our orthopedic physical therapists work closely with a diverse patient population, primarily focusing on individuals recovering from surgeries, sports injuries, chronic pain conditions, and other musculoskeletal issues. We place a strong emphasis on tailoring rehabilitation strategies to the unique needs and functional capabilities of each client, promoting both short-term recovery and long-term health goals.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
• Active state licensure as a Doctor of Physical Therapy in Virginia, in good standing.
• A minimum of one year of experience as a physical therapist, preferably in an acute care or rehabilitation setting.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to critically evaluate patient conditions and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering strong relationships with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in orthopedic physical therapy specifically, with a detail-oriented approach to treatment methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary for this position ranges from USD 100,000 to 120,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
