Job Overview Stanford Health Care – Palo Alto seeks a dynamic, adaptable Registered Nurse with 3–5 years of direct endoscopy experience and at least 1 year of critical care. The Endoscopy RN delivers high‑volume patient care in a fast‑paced, high‑acuity environment, supporting physicians, nurses, and staff across Pre‑Op, Circulating, and PACU. Responsibilities Provide intra‑procedure care for patients undergoing procedures such as cardioversion, TEE, bubble studies, GI endoscopy, bronchoscopy, line placement and exchanges. Coordinate safety measures including the use of boarding pass, time‑out, and post‑procedure debrief for each case. Assist with pre‑ and post‑procedure care, ensuring continuity across all stages of patient management. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans. Maintain rigorous compliance with regulatory safety protocols and institutional standards. Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives and promote evidence‑based practice. Support patients and families with education and emotional support throughout the care continuum. Education and Experience 3–5 years of direct endoscopy experience. Minimum 1 year of critical care nursing experience. Preferred Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution. Strong communication skills and a collaborative team‑player attitude. Licenses & Certifications California Registered Nurse (CA‑RN) license. Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification (American Heart Association). Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification may be required depending on the cost center. Physical Demands Frequent lifting of patients and equipment, bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods. Work involves moderate risks of exposure to blood, body fluids, or contagious disease, requiring protective clothing and adherence to standard precautions.
