Pharmacist - Norristown, PA

Located in Norristown, PA, this opportunity offers a contract position as a Staff Pharmacist supporting a well-respected academic medical center. This role involves direct involvement in clinical pharmacy services to ensure the safe and effective use of medications.


Key Responsibilities:

• Review medication orders from physicians and extenders, ensuring appropriateness of drug, dose, frequency, and route.
• Assess patient allergies, medical history, drug interactions, and lab data prior to medication dispensing.
• Maintain accurate inventory control of pharmaceuticals.
• Provide drug information and clinical support to healthcare team members.
• Supervise pharmacy students and technicians, ensuring safety and accuracy in medication preparation.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to support patient care planning and discharge pharmacy needs.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited program required; Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year hospital pharmacy experience or completion of Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) in a clinical setting is advantageous.
• Valid Pennsylvania Pharmacist License is mandatory.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is preferred.

Work Schedule:

• Five 8-hour shifts during daytime hours.
