Position We are looking for a Corporate Controller to join our team! The base salary range for this position is $96,100 to $120,100 based on skills and experience. PLUS, monthly incentive. This position is classified as On-site. Role As a dedicated member of the OnPath FCU team, this role performs a variety of tasks that in partnership with the surrounding departments, provide cost effective financial services for the benefit of our members who are our primary focus. Primary Function The Corporate Controller is responsible for providing and ensuring legal and regulatory compliance for all accounting reporting functions, overseeing the Accounting Department, financial statement preparation and regulatory reporting, and ensuring reports, accounts, systems, policies and practices adhere to GAAP. The Corporate Controller will assist employees and all appropriate internal credit union partners, conduct daily business interactions and maintain constant alignment with OnPath's mission, culture, and core values. Ensures value through decision making that supports credit union goals and interests. Major Duties and Responsibilities Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls with emphasis on detail and process improvements. Oversee the activities of accounting staff to ensure the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements, and annual audits. Oversee disbursement activities, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable and employee expense report. Work closely with the CFO to oversee, train, mentor and evaluate accounting staff, manage performance, and core competencies within the department. Work closely with the CFO to ensure accurate and timely filing of the quarterly Call Report and Month end close process. Provide assistance with regulatory exams and audit requests. Maintain accurate records on all credit union assets, liabilities, income, and expenses. Manage department projects and participate in meetings as assigned. Participate in a wide variety of special projects. Ensure staff is well-trained, effective, and utilized optimally. Provide leadership through clear objective setting, effective delegation, and open communication. Conduct meetings as needed to inform staff of policy, procedural, and legal updates. Discuss areas for improvement and identify training needs. Develop and implement training programs, conduct training sessions, and facilitate cross-training where appropriate. Manage leaves, time sheets and performance appraisals. Formulate and implement corrective actions when necessary. Knowledge and Skills Experience: Five to ten years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions. 2 Years Supervisory experience preferred. Education/Certifications/Licenses: A Bachelor's degree with emphasis in Accounting, Finance is required and MBA or CPA preferred. Interpersonal Skills: The ability to motivate or influence internal or external senior level professionals is a critical part of the job, requiring a significant level of influence and trust. Obtaining cooperation and agreement on important outcomes via frequently complex, senior level dialogues, as well as a professional level of written communication skills are essential to the position. Other Skills: A high level of analytical skills and strong general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and banking working knowledge. Strong decision-making skills, and high emotional intelligence is required. Proficiency in conflict resolution and effective delegation is essential. Exceptional time management and communication skills are vital, along with a commitment to fostering creativity, mentoring team members, and driving continuous improvement. Adaptability, customer focus, financial acumen, are also necessary for success in this role.
