About This Role The Staff Nurse in Radiation Oncology at Mount Sinai West is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, and intervention. This per diem position is ideal for nurses who are skilled in collaborating with care teams and guiding patient care activities. Highlights Pay: $85.9387/hour Location: New York, NY Facility: Mount Sinai West Department/Unit: Radiology Oncology - WST Schedule: Per Diem, Day shift What You’ll Do Conduct nursing assessments based on interview, examination, observation, and review of patient records. Ensure patient progress is reflected in progress notes and revised care plans. Plan discharges consistent with the patient’s status and facilitate inter‑departmental communication. Communicate information to patients based on their level of awareness and readiness to learn. Support orientation of new staff members and act as a preceptor and resource person. Function as a professional role model and mentor for students and volunteers. Assign patient care reflecting awareness of patient needs and personnel skill levels. Organize provision of care to meet priority needs of patients and the unit. Communicate patient conditions requiring additional intervention to leadership. Participate in the development of other staff members. Requirements Education Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required. Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) RN who is matriculated in a BSN Program with a graduation date within the year. Experience Documented previous experience or educational preparation to support credentials. Licenses & Certifications Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certificate (Required for L&D, NICU).
