About This Role The Staff Nurse in the PACU at Mount Sinai West is responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients by assessing, diagnosing, planning, and intervening in health problems. This role is ideal for a dedicated nurse who thrives in a collaborative environment and is committed to patient education and discharge planning. Highlights Pay : $64.2353/hour Location : New York, NY Facility : Mount Sinai West Department/Unit : PACU - WST Schedule : Full-Time, Evening shift What You'll Do Conduct nursing assessments based on interviews, examinations, observations, and record reviews. Ensure patient progress is reflected in progress notes and revised care plans. Plan discharges consistent with the patient’s status and inter-departmental communication. Communicate information to patients based on their level of awareness and readiness to learn. Support orientation of new staff members by providing feedback and acting as a preceptor. Function as a professional role model and mentor for students and volunteers. Organize provision of care to meet priority needs of patients and unit. Communicate patient conditions requiring additional intervention to leadership. Participate in the development of other staff members. Reflect collaborative efforts in meeting patient and unit needs through communication. Requirements Education: Bachelor of Science with a major in nursing preferred; Associate degree in nursing considered with relevant experience or active matriculation in a BSN program. Experience: 2-3 years of ICU, ED, or PACU nursing experience. Licenses & Certificates: Licensed as a registered nurse with current registration in New York State. BLS, ACLS, and PALS required.
