About the Department The Department of Radiation Oncology is committed to providing leading‑edge, compassionate clinical care, pioneering new therapies for patients, and training the next generation of leaders in the specialty. Your Role on the Team The incumbent will conduct tumor studies in select mouse models, with a major emphasis on orthotopic brain tumor implantation with and without radiosensitizing nanoparticle conjugates. Responsibilities include stereotactic live animal surgery, conformal irradiation procedures, imaging, tissue preparation and analysis, flow cytometry, data quantification using in‑house software, behavioral testing, breeding colony maintenance, genotyping, maintaining accurate research records, performing statistical analyses, and general lab duties. Special Conditions Due to the nature of ongoing experiments, flexibility in the work schedule is required; some experiments will need work at abnormal hours or over weekends. The candidate must be willing to work with animals and radiation sources and to travel as frequently as twice a year. All studies will comply with UCI radiation safety and institutional animal (IUCAC) approval standards.
