Located in Ocean Shores, Washington, our outpatient office offers a supportive remote work environment that fosters collaboration among a dedicated team of geriatric psychiatrists and mental health professionals. Work Environment\nThis remote position allows for flexibility in work arrangements while maintaining a connection to your team members. Our outpatient office provides facilities for occasional in-person meetings, ensuring that team collaboration remains strong. You will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team, sharing insights and strategies that focus on best practices in geriatric mental health. The working hours are Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts as needed to accommodate patient care.
Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Conduct thorough mental health assessments that consider the unique needs, cognitive changes, and social factors affecting older adults. \n
- Create and implement personalized treatment plans tailored to address each patient’s specific mental health concerns and scenarios. \n
- Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including individual and family therapy, that are responsive to the complexities of geriatric psychiatry. \n
- Work collaboratively with geriatric psychiatrists, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure an integrated approach to patient care. \n
- Provide crisis intervention and support for elderly patients experiencing acute mental health emergencies, ensuring their safety and well-being. \n
- Educate patients and their families about mental health disorders, treatment pathways, and community resources, facilitating informed decision-making. \n
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient documentation in line with ethical standards and legal requirements. \n
- Participate actively in team meetings, engaging in case discussions, continuous learning, and sharing of best practices. \n
- Stay informed about the latest research and advancements in geriatric mental health to enhance the quality of care offered. \n
You will primarily work with elderly patients facing conditions such as depression, anxiety, dementia-related disorders, and adjustment difficulties. Your expertise in geriatric mental health will be crucial as you navigate the specific challenges that this population encounters, ensuring that care is both individualized and culturally sensitive.
Qualifications\n- \n
- A master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution. \n
- Current licensure as an LICSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of Washington. \n
- A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience with a focus on mental health therapy is preferred. \n
- Sound knowledge of geriatric mental health disorders and familiarity with evidence-based treatment modalities. \n
- Experience providing therapy and interventions specifically to older adults and their family members. \n
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, emphasizing a compassionate and patient-centered approach. \n
- Ability to build trust and rapport with elderly patients and their caregivers, demonstrating empathy and understanding. \n
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and relevant computer applications. \n
- A collaborative spirit, willing to engage as part of a multidisciplinary team. \n

- Experience in providing therapy to individuals struggling with conditions such as dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, and related disorders. \n
- Familiarity with community resources available for older adults, enhancing the breadth of support offered to patients. \n
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development through continuous education and training in geriatric psychiatry. \n
The position offers a competitive salary range of USD 115,000 to 130,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
