THE ROLE

AMD is looking for a strategic, hands‑on Director of Sovereign AI Marketing to lead the development and execution of AMD's global sovereign AI marketing initiatives. This role will drive market positioning, messaging, communications, and integrated marketing programs and communications that establish AMD as a trusted partner for governments, national AI initiatives, regulated industries, and enterprises seeking AI sovereignty, technological independence, and secure AI infrastructure.

As a leader within AMD's marketing organization, you will serve as the central orchestrator for sovereign AI initiatives across product marketing, corporate communications, regional marketing, government affairs, events, digital marketing, analyst relations, and business units. You will translate AMD's AI strategy into compelling market narratives and integrated marketing programs that accelerate awareness, ecosystem development, customer engagement, and business growth.

This leader is equally comfortable shaping strategy and driving execution. You bring deep experience in enterprise technology marketing, a strong understanding of AI infrastructure and market dynamics, and a proven ability to lead complex cross‑functional initiatives in a highly matrixed global organization.

You combine strong business acumen with the ability to translate complex technology concepts into compelling narratives, integrated programs, and measurable outcomes. You are equally comfortable influencing executive stakeholders, developing long‑term strategy, and driving flawless execution across global teams and markets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead AMD's Sovereign AI Marketing Strategy

• Develop and drive AMD's global sovereign AI marketing strategy, aligning business objectives, market opportunities, and regional priorities.
• Define and evolve AMD's positioning around sovereign AI, highlighting the value of open AI ecosystems, silicon diversity, responsible AI, data sovereignty, and national AI capabilities.
• Identify emerging market trends, competitive developments, regulatory changes, and national AI initiatives that influence customer adoption and investment decisions.
• Partner with AI business leaders to align marketing priorities with AMD's broader AI growth strategy.

Orchestrate Integrated Marketing and Communications Programs

• Lead the planning and execution of integrated sovereign AI campaigns across digital, content, communications, social, events, analyst relations, and regional marketing channels.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams to ensure consistent messaging, program alignment, and effective execution across all customer and stakeholder touchpoints.
• Develop scalable campaign frameworks and marketing assets that can be adapted for regional and country‑specific sovereign AI initiatives.
• Drive major sovereign AI announcements, executive engagements, customer success stories, and industry initiatives from concept through execution.

Build Market Awareness and Thought Leadership

• Lead the development of compelling narratives, content, and thought leadership programs that strengthen AMD's position in the sovereign AI market.
• Partner with corporate communications and executive leadership to amplify AMD's voice across media, industry events, government forums, and analyst engagements.
• Develop messaging and content that resonates with policymakers, government stakeholders, enterprise decision‑makers, developers, ecosystem partners, and industry influencers.
• Represent AMD at strategic industry events, executive briefings, and sovereign AI discussions as a marketing leader and company representative.

Accelerate Ecosystem Development

• Drive marketing initiatives that support AI education programs, startup ecosystems, developer engagement, research collaborations, and national AI priorities.
• Collaborate with ecosystem partners, cloud providers, system integrators, research institutions, and industry organizations to expand AMD's sovereign AI presence and influence.
• Identify opportunities to leverage ecosystem programs and strategic partnerships to increase awareness, adoption, and market impact.

Enable Business Growth

• Partner closely with sales, business development, and regional leadership teams to support strategic sovereign AI opportunities and customer engagements.
• Develop executive‑level messaging, customer‑facing content, competitive positioning, and sales enablement materials that strengthen AMD's competitive position in sovereign AI markets.
• Ensure marketing investments and programs are aligned to pipeline generation, customer acquisition, and long‑term business growth objectives.

Drive Operational Excellence

• Establish and manage key performance indicators to measure awareness, engagement, pipeline contribution, ecosystem growth, and business impact.
• Manage program budgets, agency relationships, and external resources to maximize effectiveness and return on investment.
• Drive accountability, alignment, and execution excellence across a broad network of cross‑functional stakeholders.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Extensive experience in B2B technology marketing, including AI, cloud infrastructure, semiconductors, cybersecurity, enterprise software, or related markets.
• Demonstrated success leading global marketing initiatives that drive measurable business outcomes.
• Strong understanding of AI infrastructure, sovereign AI concepts, data residency requirements, and regulatory considerations impacting AI adoption.
• Experience marketing to government organizations, public sector institutions, highly regulated industries, or national technology initiatives is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to influence and align cross‑functional teams in a highly matrixed global environment.
• Strong communication, storytelling, and executive presentation skills.
• Experience developing integrated campaigns spanning product marketing, communications, digital marketing, events, analyst relations, and ecosystem programs.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.

• May be open to considering Austin, TX or Dublin, IE
