Lecturer and Clinical Placement Coordinator

Overview Lecturer and Clinical Placement Coordinator – 3591, UNC Pembroke. The primary function of this role is to coordinate and oversee clinical placement processes across all SON programs. As enrollment expands and clinical placement environments become increasingly competitive, a centralized and dedicated position is needed to ensure equitable, appropriate, and timely placement of students in clinical settings that align with course and program learning outcomes. The role will collaborate with course coordinators, program directors, and external clinical partners to evaluate site appropriateness based on student level, course objectives, and regulatory standards, strengthening academic–practice partnerships and enhancing clinical learning experiences. Responsibilities Coordinate and oversee clinical placement processes across all SON programs. Serve as the central liaison for clinical contracts and MOUs, ensuring agreements are executed, reviewed by legal counsel, and compliant with institutional and accreditation standards. Systematically manage and organize clinical agreements within a shared repository to improve operational efficiency, support accreditation documentation, and provide transparency for faculty and leadership when identifying and utilizing clinical sites. Maintain compliance with CCNE standards related to practice experiences and partnerships, and with SACSCOC expectations for institutional effectiveness and resource management. Represent the SON in clinical partnership meetings and foster sustainable relationships with healthcare agencies and community stakeholders to advance the School’s mission and ensure adequate clinical capacity. Qualifications Master’s Degree in an appropriate discipline; prior experience teaching in a higher education setting.
