Position Details Division: Academic Affairs Department: Department of Kinesiology Working Title: Lecturer/Athletic Trainer – 3571 Vacancy Type: Non-Tenure-Track Faculty FTE: 1 Months per Year: 9 FLSA Status: Exempt Recruitment Range: Commensurate upon Education and Experience Position #3571 Primary Purpose of the Position Teach undergraduate courses as assigned by the Department of Kinesiology Chair. Provide medical care for assigned sports teams within the Department of Athletics. Responsibilities include daily medical care during all team activities and travel, maintaining electronic medical records, supervising graduate assistant athletic trainers, and carrying out administrative duties as assigned by the Department Chair or Senior Associate Athletics Director. Job Responsibilities Teach undergraduate courses in kinesiology and athletic training. Deliver evidence-based instruction and foster student learning. Provide medical care for assigned athletic teams, including acute injury evaluation and treatment. Manage examination, treatment, and rehabilitation protocols. Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records. Supervise graduate assistant athletic trainers. Collaborate with the Department Chair, Senior Associate Athletics Director, and athletic staff on program planning. Participate in departmental meetings and professional development activities. Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree in an appropriate discipline. Prior experience teaching in a higher‑education setting preferred. BOC certification. AED/CPR certification. Licensed or eligible for athletic training licensure in North Carolina by August 2026.
