This role is a mix of very hands on, traditional accounting tasks and forward-looking projects to improve our systems and processes. Based in our San Francisco office, this role is ideal for a highly motivated accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth technology environment and brings a combination of technical accounting expertise, operational excellence, and a passion for process transformation and innovation.Responsibilities of the role:Assist with month-end close procedures, including preparation of monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and supporting schedulesEnsure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies while maintaining strong internal controls and audit readinessAssist with the annual audit process; readiness and execution, including preparation of supporting audit schedules and account reconciliationsReview and research technical accounting issues and drive to resolutionPartner cross-functionally with FP&A, Biz Ops (Analytics), Product, IT and Legal teamsDrive automation and continuous improvement initiatives to streamline accounting workflows, reduce manual effort, and improve scalabilityLeverage technology, data analytics, and AI-enabled solutions to enhance reporting accuracy, operational efficiency, and financial insightsAssist with implementation and optimization of financial systems, accounting tools, and reporting processesSupport special projects and ad hoc accounting work as neededRequired skills and experience:Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent, CPA strongly preferred.5+ years of accounting experience, mix of public accounting or public company and industry experience highly preferred.Experience with NetSuite is desired.Proactive, detail-oriented go-getter with strong critical thinking and organization skills.Excellent understanding of GAAP-compliant accounting policies, procedures and financial statements.Comfortable with ambiguity and dynamic workload, with a "roll-up-your-sleeves and get going" attitude.Strong communication skills who works well across teamsAdvanced excel and google suite skillsProficiency in using AI and the mindset to use AI to improve processesFor CA-Based ApplicantsThe base salary for this position is $100,000 – $125,000This position is eligible for Instawork benefits, including:Medical, dental, and vision plans with coverage beginning on the date of hireFlexible paid time offAt least 8 paid company holidays annuallyPhone stipendCommuter stipendSupplemental pay on qualified leavesEmployee health savings accounts (HSA) contributionFlexible spending plans401K planPerkspot — discount program through LumityA variety of factors are considered when determining someone's compensation, including a candidate's professional background, experience, and location.
