Staff Accountant
Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $65,000 to $68,000 per year.
Job Responsibilities
- Apply a solid understanding of standard accounting principles to daily financial tasks.
- Manage automated matching of cash, credit card, and point-of-sale activity and investigate any discrepancies.
- Reconcile electronic payments with system records and record related fees and adjustments.
- Process payroll entries and month-end accruals to ensure accurate period reporting.
- Maintain updated balance sheet schedules and roll-forward files to support reliable cash and account reporting.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in accounting or a closely related discipline.
- At least 2+ years of experience working in an accounting role.
- Strong analytical thinking with a high level of attention to detail.
- Effective communication, organizational abilities, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-moving environment.
Qualifications
- Prior experience using modern accounting or ERP platforms such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP.
- Advanced Excel proficiency, including pivot tables, lookup functions, and data analysis formulas.
- Ability to investigate and resolve financial discrepancies across multiple systems.
- Comfortable preparing ad-hoc financial reports and supporting cross-department inquiries.
- Strong ability to adapt to evolving processes and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
