Responsibilities

Draw blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established safety and procedural standards.

Prepare and label specimens accurately for laboratory testing, ensuring compliance with all specimen handling protocols.

Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient signatures post-venipuncture to confirm correct specimen labeling.

Maintain accurate documentation and records of blood draws and related procedures.

Provide a positive and professional environment that inspires trust and confidence with patients and staff.

Engage in daily tasks with efficiency and accuracy, supporting the team in a high-volume setting.

Follow all safety policies, dress codes, and confidentiality requirements to ensure a compliant workplace.

Possibly assist in various locations, including patient service centers, doctor's offices, and in-office phlebotomy sites, with flexible scheduling.

Required Skills

Proven ability to perform quality phlebotomy procedures in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent patient communication skills, with the ability to explain procedures clearly and compassionately.

Strong attention to detail for specimen labeling, documentation, and data entry.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a team-oriented approach.

Comfortable working with diverse patient populations, including pediatric and geriatric patients.

Basic knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and confidentiality standards.

Additional Skills & Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training is a plus.

Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

1-3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric collections, is required.

Experience working in a patient service center environment is preferred.

Keyboard and data entry skills to ensure accurate record keeping.

Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed, with reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license if applicable.

Willingness to travel between multiple locations and handle multiple priorities efficiently.
