UnityPoint Clinic is a physician-led, nonprofit health care organization offering comprehensive services in primary care, walk-in care and specialty care. The clinical teams at the area’s clinics are improving outcomes, lowering the number of hospital readmissions and reducing avoidable costs associated with treating chronic conditions. The UnityPoint Clinic team is known for excellence and quality patient care putting patients at the center of their care to provide the best level of health and well-being.

• E stablished team of 2 physicians and 2 advanced practitioners, with plans to expand department further

• Currently no call/weekends;Department will be expanding to provide call and inpatient coverage when team of 4 physicians and 2 advanced practitioners. 1:4 Call. Very strong and supportive hospitalist team and expected minimal weekend's load of cases for endocrinologists.

• Ability to download all insulin pumps and continuous glucose mon itors

• One RN dedicated to each provider and one CMA float for the clinic with little turnover

• Dedicated CDE for the clinic (in office) who meets with new diabetes patients prior to their first appointment with the physicians. Additional diabetes educators within the UnityPoint system

• Lab capabilities on site

• Gestational diabetes managed by Perinatology

• Strong referral base with plenty of new consultation requests daily

Responsibilities

• Seeing around 15-17 patients (18+) per day

• Opportunity to work with residents and medical students if desired, not required

• 24/7 hospitalist program is responsible for adult and pediatric inpatients

Qualifications

• MD or DO

• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Endocrinology

• Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of Iowa

• Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the physician’s field of practice

• Eligible to work in the United States (H1-B cap exempt)
