Payroll Specialist

Kforce's client, a consumer products company is seeking a Payroll Specialist in Jersey City, NJ. This position will assist the Payroll Manager and a key role working within the Finance department. This role is commutable by mass transit from NYC. This company offers excellent benefits & a great culture and a discretionary year-end bonus.Responsibilities include:

• Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed timely and accurately utilizing ADP Workforce Now
• Maintain Confidentiality of all payroll and employee information
• Perform daily payroll operations
• Checking/editing timesheets for accuracy utilizing ADP Workforce Manager time system
• Working with remote locations regarding payroll
• Handling direct deposit requests
• Process all mandated, court ordered deductions and process each within strict timelines
• Process and review employee changes
• Process bonus and commission payments
• Respond to employee and management inquiries in a timely manner
• Resolve payroll discrepancies
• Complete employee verifications and unemployment requests
• Process accurate and timely year-end reporting(W-2)
• Provide weekly/monthly reports for HR using Excel and other internal systems
• Submitting payroll requisitions to A/P to fund Credit Union and 401k
• Process manual checks
• Assisting in the payment process of our independent drivers utilizing AS400
• Entry of driver charges and running edit reports on a weekly basis
• Finalizing driver reports with remote locations and submitting final edit
• Running miscellaneous driver reports
• Assist with other department duties

• Bachelor's degree (B.A) from a four-year college or University is preferred
• At least 4+ years of experience processing multistate payroll with ADP Workforce Now; Experience with Lawson M3 is a plus
• A personable team player who demonstrates professionalism under pressure and interpersonal skills
• Must demonstrate excellent written/verbal communication skills and be dedicated to customer service
• Must be well organized, sensitive to handling confidential information, flexible and highly detail oriented; Should also be capable of effectively managing multiple tasks

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
