Work Environment

This position is located onsite at our hospital-based facility in Newburgh, where you will work closely with licensed Physical Therapists, occupational therapists, and various healthcare professionals. Key Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on patient care by administering therapeutic interventions as directed by a licensed Physical Therapist, following physician prescriptions.
• Document patient progress through accurate record-keeping including progress notes and discharge summaries to ensure continuity of care.
• Engage with family members during meetings to discuss the patient's rehabilitation journey and address concerns regarding therapy.
• Implement and adapt treatment modalities such as manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and patient education to specific patient needs.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to review patient outcomes and participate in quality improvement initiatives regularly.
• Observe and respond to emergencies by adhering to established safety protocols to protect patient welfare.
• Participate in departmental activities and contribute to team meetings aimed at improving patient services and operational efficiency.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a PTA at BodySync PT, you will primarily work with an orthopedic patient population, which may include individuals recovering from joint replacements, sports injuries, post-surgical rehabilitation, and more. Your role will be crucial in helping these patients set and achieve their rehabilitation goals, promoting independence and improving their overall quality of life.

Qualifications

• Active Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of New York.
• A Bachelor's Degree in a related field is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of two years of relevant experience in a physical therapy setting, particularly with orthopedic patients.
• Exceptional proficiency in therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and rehabilitation methodologies.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
• Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) is preferred.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working within a hospital or outpatient orthopedic setting is highly advantageous.
• Additional certifications in specialized rehabilitation techniques or modalities are a plus.
• Demonstrated history of collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to achieve high-quality patient outcomes.
