The Department of Public Health at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for PH 101: Introduction to Public Health for Fall 2026.

Course Description

The Department of Public Health at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Fall 2026 to teach PH 101: Introduction to Public Health. This course serves as an introduction to public health and related public health disciplines (core knowledge areas) including Health Services Epidemiology Social and Behavioral Sciences Environmental Health and Biostatistics. Includes an illustration of the history and growth of public health from medicine health ethics and future public health concerns. Also presents the core tenets of social and behavioral science as well as an introduction to advocacy diversity and culture leadership and public health biology.

Minimum qualifications:

• A Master of Public Health (MPH) or Master of Science in Public Health (MSPH)
• Relevant experience working with college-level students or teaching in an institution of higher learning.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with core faculty and colleagues on an ethnically and culturally diverse campus is required.
• Per the California State Universitys Out-of-State Employment Policy the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU-related work outside California. Working in the State of California is a condition of employment.

Preferred qualifications:

• A doctoral degree in Public Health or a closely related field
• Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate intercultural competence and a commitment to serving our campus community as it relates to teaching and as applicable service.

Salary commensurate with degree level and experience

• AnticipatedHiring Salary Range: $5507 - $6000 per full-time month

The salary schedule information for the Lecturer Academic Year Classification is available based on the following ranges:

• CSU Classification Salary Range Lecturer A - AY: $5507 - $6677 per full-time month

The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range commensurate with education and experience.
