Overview HHS: Introduction to Personal Health and Wellness – Position: Lecturer - Fall 2026 Semester; Academic Year: 2026/2027; Day/Time: Mondays and Wednesdays 2:30-4pm and Fridays 2:30pm-3:30pm; Modality: In-Person; College: College of Education, Health and Human Services; Department: Human Development. The College of Education at California State University San Marcos invites applications for instructors to teach HHS: Introduction to Personal Health and Wellness , a 3-unit course offered at High Tech High School (San Marcos, California). This is a dual enrolled course offered to high school students for college credit. This course introduces the basic principles of health and wellness from a holistic perspective to enhance self-awareness and personal wellness behaviors. Subjects covered include mental, emotional, physical and socio-environmental dimensions of health, sexuality and relationships, nutrition and physical fitness, use and abuse of drugs, health care services and current health problems. Minimum Qualifications A master’s degree in kinesiology, public health, human development or other health and wellness related disciplines. Per California State University’s Out-of-State Employment Policy, the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU-related work outside California. Working in the State of California is a condition of employment. Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching in higher education Experience working with high school students Salary Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5,507 - $8,000 per full-time month The salary schedule information for the Lecturer – Academic Year Classification is available based on the following ranges: CSU Classification Salary Range Lecturer A - AY: $5,507 - $6,677 per full-time month CSU Classification Salary Range Lecturer B - AY: $6,221 - $13,224 per full-time month The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.
