DIRECTOR OF FINANCE

Our location places you near Broadway, Ryman Auditorium, Nissan Stadium, Vanderbilt University, and Geodis Park, making it easy to enjoy Music City before or after your shift. What will you be doing? Director of Finance responsibilities include providing ethical and consistent leadership in the hotel’s financial area, supporting management with guidance and training, and focusing on profitability through accurate and timely financial reporting, internal controls, and regulatory compliance. You will safeguard owners’/investors’ assets and collaborate with management on financial planning and operations. Evaluate the financial impact on business decisions. Ensure management is promptly notified of financial deviations from policies or control weaknesses. Manage and communicate cash flow issues; prepare cash-flow statements, manage receivables, cash balances, control mechanisms, and timely deposits. Monitor revenues and expenses and ensure accurate recording; investigate variances and propose improvements. Monitor capital planning, assist with ROI calculations, and evaluate scope of work and specifications. Ensure compliance with regulatory licenses, permits, leases, contracts, and operational taxes; assist management in enforcing compliance. Coordinate forecasts and budgets with active participation of the management team. Analyze financial data to advise management on achieving financial objectives. Reconcile balance sheet accounts and bank reconciliations in a timely manner. Establish and audit internal financial controls including purchasing, cash handling, disbursements, credit, inventories, assets, payroll, and records. Support recruiting and development of finance staff; maintain an inventory of qualified associates for potential leadership roles. Lead training and development for finance staff to cultivate top talent. Hire, train, supervise, and develop staff, including coaching and counseling where needed. Maintain compliance with Crescent Hotels and Resorts standards and regulations for safe and efficient operation. Ensure proper IT system utilization, maintenance, and upgrades. Direct and prepare financial reports in compliance with CHR requirements and deadlines. Review and submit a Daily Revenue Report. Ensure timely deposits of cash and transmission of credit card transactions. Review Labor Reports for overtime and variances to forecast. Review departmental checkbooks and advise on changes as needed. Distribute and discuss weekly general ledger reports with department managers. Update general manager on unfavorable financial issues impacting the month. Ensure sufficient cash to meet scheduled obligations. Reconcile balance sheet with proper backup. Count banks and the main vault as required. Review key financial controls checklist for adherence and compliance. Compare actual numbers to forecast to improve future accuracy. Participate in monthly credit meetings and forecast reviews with department heads. Perform any other job-related duties as assigned. Qualifications A minimum of four years’ experience as a Hotel Director of Finance. Demonstrated knowledge and accuracy in P&L, forecast accuracy, budgeting, cash management, and overall financial management that meets owner expectations. Prior experience with Hilton systems is preferred. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office. Self-starting personality with an even disposition. Strong communication skills. Ability to exercise judgment in evaluating situations and making sound decisions.
