Locum Tenens Gastroenterologist in Marquette, MI - Board-certified Internal Medicine/Gastroenterology with immediate credentialing for Endoscopy Unit coverage. Join our Endoscopy team providing advanced GI procedures in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

• Location: Marquette, MI 49855 (Northern Michigan, Upper Peninsula)
• Assignment Dates: Multiple block coverage dates available (see below)
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $6,150 - $7,280
• Shifts: Monday-Friday: 9-hour day shift (8 hours scheduled) with 15-hour overnight call; Weekend call: 24 hours
• Patient/Procedure Volume: Up to 12 procedures per day (lower inpatient volume; focus on endoscopy/GI procedures)
• Common Procedures: EGD, colonoscopy, ERCP, EUS, sigmoidoscopy, PEG/PEG-J tube placement, esophageal manometry, liver biopsy (preferred)
• Call: Required (overnight and weekend)
• EMR: Cerner, gGastro, Athena
• Nearest Airport: Sawyer Regional (convenient travel for locum tenens assignments)

Block Coverage Dates:

• 3/25/2026 (orientation)
• 3/26/2026 (7am) - 3/30/2026 (7am)
• 6/12/2026 (7am) - 6/15/2026 (7am)
• 12/11/2026 (7am) - 12/14/2026 (7am)

• Board Certification in Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology (required)
• Active Michigan medical license (required) - candidates with Michigan license or ability to obtain quickly preferred
• Fellowship in Gastroenterology (required)
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a practicing gastroenterologist; prior locum tenens or community hospital experience a plus
• Proficiency in advanced GI procedures, including ERCP and EUS (preferred)
• Certifications required: ABLS, ACLS, ATLS, BLS
• Ability to work independently without a scribe or assistant; complete charting and documentation
• Full availability for all block coverage dates (partial availability not considered)
• Immediate credentialing and onboarding turnaround required for locum tenens coverage

• Provide comprehensive gastroenterology coverage for the Endoscopy Unit, including diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and call responsibilities
• Perform a wide range of GI procedures: EGD, colonoscopy, ERCP, EUS, sigmoidoscopy, PEG/PEG-J tube placement, esophageal manometry, and liver biopsy when indicated
• Interpret diagnostic studies, communicate results and follow-up recommendations to patients and nursing staff
• Complete all charting and documentation independently (no scribe provided)
• Collaborate with a highly skilled Endo Unit team to deliver exceptional patient care in a community hospital setting
• Participate in orientation and adhere to all hospital policies, credentialing requirements, and locum tenens onboarding processes
