The future of cybersecurity starts with you.About the Role:CrowdStrike is looking for an Accounting Manager to take ownership of key areas of our monthly financial close process and drive the evolution of our accounting function. The ideal candidate will have 6-8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including demonstrated ownership of complex accounting areas, SOX controls, and a passion for deploying modern tools and AI-enabled solutions to build a best-in-class finance function. We are looking for a leader who can manage and develop a team, partner cross-functionally, and continuously raise the bar on close quality, speed, and scalability. You should have the ability to interact with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Product Management, Sales, Sales Operations, Billing, and Legal. If you are a high-impact problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced, big-tech environment, then this is the role for you.What You'll Do:Internal-Use Software (ASC 350-40) – Process Ownership:Own the company's internal-use software capitalization policy and process under ASC 350-40, serving as the subject matter expert across Accounting, Engineering, and PMO.Oversee the end-to-end IUS accounting lifecycle, including cost tracking, capitalization determinations, amortization scheduling, and impairment assessment.Set and enforce capitalization thresholds, review technical accounting memos supporting determinations, and ensure consistent policy application across all projects.Partner with Engineering and Product Management to establish scalable intake processes for capturing qualifying development costsReview and approve monthly journal entries related to software capitalization and amortization.Own analysis on internal-use software accounts to identify potential adjustments and explain month-over-month and quarter-over-quarter variances.Month-End Close – Process Ownership:Own end-to-end monthly and quarterly close for assigned areas, with full accountability to company close timelines.Develop and maintain close calendars, manage task assignments in close management tools, and proactively identify and escalate blockers to on-time delivery.Drive continuous improvement initiatives targeting close cycle compression without sacrificing accuracy or control quality.Review account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and ensure completeness and accuracy of recorded balances.Collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure all business transactions are appropriately captured and accounted for.Participate in the preparation of management reporting, including month-over-month variance commentary.SOX Compliance & Internal Controls – Process Ownership:Own the design, documentation, and operating effectiveness of SOX controls within assigned accounting areas.Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors for SOX walkthroughs, control evidence requests, and interim and year-end audit procedures.Proactively identify control gaps, design remediation plans, and implement improved control frameworks in response to process or system changes.Partner with Internal Audit on risk-based control scoping decisions and ensure global consistency in accounting processes.Maintain and update accounting policies and procedures for owned areas, ensuring they reflect current processes and control expectations.Ensure accounting processes are executed in compliance with SOX at all times.AI & Tooling Deployment – Modern Accounting Function:Lead the identification, evaluation, and deployment of AI-assisted tools and automation solutions to accelerate close, reduce manual journal entry volume, and improve accuracy.Partner with Finance Transformation and IT to evaluate AI projects, reporting, and workflow tools and drive adoption across the team.Champion a culture of continuous improvement by identifying manual processes and replacing them with automated controls and AI-augmented workflows.Team Leadership & Development:Manage, mentor, and develop a team of 1-2 Senior Accountants, including goal-setting, performance reviews, and ongoing coaching.Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, continuous learning, and process improvement within the team.General:Support internal and external audit requirements and provide documentation as needed.Ensure global consistency in accounting processes and practices.Ad hoc projects, as deemed necessary.What You'll Need:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required.CPA required (or actively in pursuit).6-8+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a manager or lead capacity.Prior experience managing or leading a team of accountants, including performance management and development.Prior experience in working with an offshore team in a collaborative environment.Strong command of US GAAP, including deep familiarity with ASC 350-40 (internal-use software capitalization).Demonstrated experience owning a SOX-compliant accounting function and serving as an auditor liaison.Proven track record of deploying accounting tools, automation solutions, or AI-enabled workflows within a finance or accounting organization.Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and thrive in a dynamic, high-growth environment.Strong cross-functional communicator — able to translate technical accounting requirements for non-accounting stakeholders.Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, lead a team, and contribute beyond the defined role to meet business needs.Proven experience utilizing AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency and drive business outcomes.Bonus Points:Big 4 or national public accounting firm backgroundExperience at a high-tech, SaaS, or rapid-growth public companyExperience with NetSuite and close management and reporting toolsFamiliarity with AI, workflow automation (e.g., RPA), or other Placement within the pay range is dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications, job level, supervisory status, and location.
