Shipping & Receiving Associate

Location: Waltham Way, Sparks, NV 89434
Job Type: Temp-to-Hire
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 5:00 AM - 2:30 PM
Pay: $19.00/hour

Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Associate to join our warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for receiving, inspecting, storing, picking, packing, and shipping products while ensuring accuracy, safety, and cleanliness throughout the facility.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with warehouse, forklift, and SAP experience who are looking for a long-term opportunity with the potential for permanent hire.

Key Responsibilities
Receiving

• Manually unload trailers and incoming shipments.
• Receive and inspect materials to ensure they meet specifications.
• Count and verify received packages and record quantities accurately.
• Inspect shipments for damage, shortages, or defects and report issues to the supervisor.
• Read and interpret case labels accurately.
• Palletize products for storage and inventory placement.
• Maintain a clean and organized receiving area, including trailer cleanup.

Shipping

• Pick, pack, and prepare products for shipment.
• Ensure orders are packaged according to customer requirements and company guidelines.
• Maximize freight space utilization and shipment efficiency.
• Count, weigh, and verify outgoing shipments for accuracy.
• Inspect outgoing orders to ensure they meet shipping specifications.
• Follow both written and verbal instructions accurately.

Additional Duties

• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Adhere to company safety and environmental policies, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Complete daily and weekly cleaning tasks as required.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of SAP ERP experience required.
• Minimum 2 years of forklift operating experience required.
• Experience in warehouse, shipping, receiving, or material handling environments preferred.
• Ability to read specification sheets and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work effectively with supervisors and team members.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, sitting, reaching, lifting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing.
• Ability to safely lift and move up to 100 pounds occasionally .
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
• Must have close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
