Automotive Service ManagerSuburban CDJR of Farmington Hills is NOW HIRING an Automotive Service Manager to lead a busy OEM franchise service operation with the resources, support, and autonomy needed to make a meaningful impact. We are looking for a hands-on leader who can drive customer satisfaction, grow departmental performance, and build a culture focused on accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence.The Service Manager will be responsible for leading the dealership's service department, performance, profitability, customer satisfaction, and employee development. This leader will oversee Service Advisors, Technicians, Dispatch, Warranty Administration, and shop operations while ensuring compliance with OEM standards and objectives. Our ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can build a highly engaged team, improve technician productivity, retain customers, and deliver an exceptional ownership experience.Lead the daily operations of a high-volume OEM service department.Drive service sales, labor gross profit, effective labor rate, and overall departmental profitability.Recruit, train, develop, and retain service advisors, technicians, dispatchers, and support staff.Monitor and improve technician productivity, proficiency, efficiency, and shop capacity utilization.Ensure consistent execution of dealership and OEM service processes.Manage customer satisfaction, online reputation, CSI performance, and customer retention initiatives.Review department performance metrics and implement action plans to achieve business objectives.Oversee warranty administration, policy compliance, and proper repair order documentation.Partner with the Parts Manager to improve repair cycle times, parts availability, and overall shop efficiency.Maintain a safe, organized, and productive work environment.Lead advisor and technician performance reviews, coaching initiatives, and succession planning efforts.Collaborate with dealership leadership to establish annual budgets, forecasts, and departmental growth strategies.Ensure compliance with all manufacturer training requirements, recall campaigns, technical service bulletins, and OEM programs.All other duties as assigned by leadership.What You'll Bring3+ years as a Service Manager, Fixed Operations Manager, or Assistant Service Manager experience within an OEM franchised dealership.Understanding of Stellantis service operations, warranty processes, and manufacturer performance metrics.Track record of achieving departmental sales, gross profit, CSI, and technician productivity objectives.Experience leading and developing service advisors, technicians, and support personnel.Financial statement acumen with the ability to manage budgets, analyze KPIs, and drive profitability.Knowledge of dealership management systems (CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, Tekion, or similar platforms).Strong commitment to customer retention and employee development.Acceptable driving record and a valid driver's license in your state of residence.Total Rewards$12,000.00 - $16,000.00/ per month; This is a performance driven position, eligible for short-term and/or long-term incentives as part of total compensation, which includes a base/draw/hourly offset and opportunities for commission and bonus.Actual pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and physical location.
