Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown (Travel)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts | 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM | Every other weekend required | Holiday support required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 10-bed ICU/PCU overflow unit with patient ratios of 2:1 (ICU) and 4–5:1 (PCU)
• Perform and assist providers with bedside procedures as needed, including chest tube insertion and intubations
• Manage ventilators, IV pumps, targeted temperature management (TTM), and lift equipment
• Administer and monitor critical care pharmacology including IV sedation, paralytics, and vasopressors
• Conduct bedside shift reports and, when serving as relief charge nurse, perform nurse leader rounding
• Float to other units as required per facility floating policy; BLS and ACLS certifications required

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in North Carolina (or compact state eligibility)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse
• Medical ICU experience in a large facility setting
• Proficiency with hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management
• Experience with Cerner documentation system

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Advanced hemodynamic monitoring and central line management experience
• Experience with critical care pharmacology including IV sedation, paralytics, and vasopressors
• Demonstrated ability to assist with bedside procedures in a fast-paced critical care environment
• Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to work flexibly and collaboratively within a team
