Staff Accountant

Responsibilities Kforce's client, a Long Island, NY based, full-service CPA firm, is seeking a Staff/Tax Accountant. Summary: This firm focuses on corporate and personal accounting services and consulting. The clients are small to mid-size companies and individuals with high income/high net worth, business owners or own real estate. While this is a small team, they offer the ability for a flexible work schedule, where your accomplishments will be noticed and rewarded. Responsibilities include: Prepare individual, business (Schedule C, Form 1065, Form 1120, Form 1120S), trust and non-profit tax returns; Works on the preparation of payroll, sales, information (1099s), and other tax returns Prepare or compile financial statements Requirements 1-4 years of recent experience in a public accounting firm preparing tax returns Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and QuickBooks Must be familiar with Forms 1040/1041/1065/1120/1120S Strong written and verbal communication skills Should be hard-working and ambitious, and able to work in nice, spacious, Nassau County offices Proficiency in ProSystem is a plus The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law.
