Physical Therapist

The Physical Therapist is responsible for implementing patient rehabilitation programs aimed at improving mobility, function, and strength. This role involves evaluating and treating patients, supervising PT assistants and aides, maintaining accurate documentation, and collaborating with physicians and staff to ensure quality patient care in an outpatient rehabilitation setting. Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and treat patients using physical therapy and rehabilitation programs.
• Maintain and update PT skills and certifications as required.
• Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) to complete evaluations, reports, and discharge summaries.
• Guide and monitor patient care throughout treatment and follow-up phases.
• Supervise PT Assistants and Aides regarding patient care activities.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, co-workers, and other offices via phone, fax, and email.
• Ensure accurate patient chart documentation and follow-up on prescriptions, test results, and authorizations.
• Assist patients with comfort and answer questions during treatment.
• Collaborate with front office staff on scheduling and patient follow-up.
• Make independent clinical decisions regarding patient care.
• Participate in business marketing and referral processes as needed.
• Adhere to HIPAA policies and procedures to protect patient privacy.
• Be familiar with PT billing policies, including Medicare, work-comp, private insurance, auto, liens, and cash pay.
• Proficiently use DX and ICD-10 coding for billing services.
• Perform physical tasks including sitting, walking, standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, assisting patient mobility and transfers.

• Degree in Physical Therapy.
• Active or pending license as a Physical Therapist in the state of employment.
• Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and assist patients safely with mobility.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and patient privacy regulations.

• Continuing education courses in Physical Therapy.
• Experience with Medicare, work-comp, private insurance billing, and ICD-10 coding.
• Experience supervising PT Assistants and Aides.

• Work in an outpatient physical therapy clinic setting.
• Compliance with OSHA, federal, and state regulations.
• Maintain patient privacy in accordance with company policies and federal law.
• Physical demands include prolonged standing, walking, bending, and lifting over 50 pounds.

• Preferred schedule includes four 9-hour days plus one 4-hour day (4x9's & 1x4 schedule).
• Day shift work in a clinic environment.
