Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) Needed in Chico, WA Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate School-Based Sign Language Interpreter to join our educational team. The interpreter will facilitate communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and others, ensuring equal access to educational opportunities and fostering an inclusive learning environment. Key Responsibilities Interpret spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa for students in various educational settings. Support students during classroom instruction, activities, and school events. Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to ensure the students needs are met. Assist in the preparation of educational materials as needed. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to the ethical standards of the interpreting profession. Qualifications Certification in Sign Language Interpretation (RID/NAD or equivalent). Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL). Previous experience working in an educational setting preferred.
